It’s the 64th annual Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl Game coming up tomorrow at Castleton’s Spartan Stadium at 5:30.

There are six Rutland area players on the Vermont Shrine team including Rutland’s Jimmy Mee, Max Pockette and Jack Ligon, Fair Haven’s Dylan Ellis, Mill River’s Mike Morgan and Otter Valley’s Brent Nickerson. The captains are: Max Pockette,Burr and Burton’s Griff Stalcup, Windsor’s Hunter Patenaude and Woodstock’s Dan Robinson.

The sports story of the year in 2016 was Vermont’s 50-2 victory. The first victory for the Green Mountain boys since 2000.

I see Vermont winning again this year though I don’t think it will be a rout:
