In response to Jack Healey's blog about Ortiz's injury and how it effects the Redsox. Certainly if David Ortiz is only for a short term period such as 6 to 8 weeks I think the Redsox can tread water and remain in the race until Papi's return. Lets not forget they have been near first all season long and survived Ortiz's massive slump that started the season. With the speed off Ellsbury, Crisp, Lugo and even Pedroia the sox have been able to generate runs without always having to depend on the big home run. If they can continue to do this the offense wont sputter in Ortiz's absence. If Ortiz is out for the season or a long period of time I think Boston should look for a a short term solution to fill the void. I wouldnt neccesarily say they need a marquee name but maybe find someone like they did with Bartolo Colon and hope they can work out for them.

Hello from St. Louis!

For those of us who have moved far from the homeland, it would be fantastic to hear your fine local programming via the web.
